I have been pondering upon myself since I arrived back in the states because I have spent 13 years in the Philippines! I have spent most of my young adulthood life in the Philippines for my studies and self-development upon what I should do in my life and I experienced being married for 4 years. Well, I guess most of my college life in the Philippines was pretty interesting because I studied in 2 different colleges and 2 different vocational schools. The colleges in the Philippines are quite different compare to the colleges in the states even through, I did go to a junior college in the states during January 1993-February 1994 (I wasn’t a regular full-time college student in the states). The colleges in the Philippines are bi-seminar comparing to the tri-seminar junior colleges and the 4-year colleges in the states. Plus, the age differences between the ages of entering college in the states to the Philippines. In the state for college, it’s usually the ages between 17-18 and in the Philippines; it’s usually the ages between 15-17. Yet, it could also vary upon the attitudes of the students and their up-bringing?! Anyway, I am not comparing anyone’s mental capacity or their attributes just remembering what I have observed during those 13 years in the Philippines comparing my 18 years of being raised in the states. Say the least, I’m finally back in the states and I’m starting to realize that I have missed out a lot changes since I was last in the states! The places I used to know are no longer there and/or they have moved to different locations. Most of my old high school friends and other people I used to know and hang around before aren’t around anymore. Yet, that’s not stopping me from making new friends and starting my life all over again from scratch.
